Lauren currently attends Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. In the Brutnell lab, Lauren worked with graduate student Ling Bai on genotyping maize plants and sequencing across footprint alleles to identify new mutants in the carotenoid biosynthesis pathway. Lauren came to the lab with most of the skills she needed for the project, but she learned the “Brutnell lab” way of doing the techniques.
