Emily Pinto
Emily is currently in her Sophomore year at Emory University. During her internship in the Pawlowski lab, Emily worked under the direction of her mentors Gagan Sidhu and Chris Bozza. While in Ithaca , Emily’s work focused on chromosome walking to determine gene location on a chromosome, immunolocalizations to determine protein presence in the nucleus during prophase of meiosis in Maize. For this project, Emily learned techniques including DNA extractions from plates, immunolocalizations, deconvolution microscopy, and gel staining.
