Richard is a student at Alcorn State University in Mississippi. Richard completed his internship in the Hanson Lab with the supervision of graduate student Jason Gillman. During the summer, Richard worked on production and analysis of transgenic petunia plants expressing chimeric fertility restorer genes. Richard learned several techniques including western blots, protein extraction, and bioinformatics.
