Emma is a currently a student at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. In the Rose lab Emma worked under the supervision of post-doctoral associate Tal Isaacson. Emma’s project for her internship fine mapping a candidate gene involved in tomato fruit cuticle biosynthesis, and to begin cloning the gene into useful vectors. During her internship, Emma learned several lab skills including positional cloning and candidate gene mapping.
