David is a student at Dryden High School and has worked in the McCouch lab this summer with Christina Hoffman and Greg Wilson. Using PCR methods, David worked toward finding MITES such as mPing, Tourist and Stowaway on four varieties of rice plants: Nipponbare, Kasalath, IR64, and 93-11. This work will eventually help piece together the transposable elements present in rice.
